Airport and Airplane ‘Germ meter’

About those germs in airports and on airplanes …

The TODAY  show investigative correspondent Jeff Rossen
put airports and planes to the test to see how much harmful
bacteria is lurking on surfaces touched by travelers. This
aired on The Today Show on October 2, 2018. I call it
Airport and Airplane ‘Germ meter’. It is all about germs in
airports and airplanes. Yuck!

I literally saw this bit of news, from The Today Show, one day before I was getting on a plane for a destination wedding in California. I was actually packing and after hearing what Jeff Rossen had to say I immediately added anti-bacterial wipes to my carryon bag and make sure I also had hand sanitizer with me. Really? Germs in airports and airplanes? That got my attention!

We all probably have suspected that there were places that did not get cleaned too often, but really? The airplane seat trays can out.  52.75 times dirtier than the toilet seats? That is one fact the I will never forget.

And, I will never again travel without anti-bacterial wipes. I will be sure to wipe down the armrests, seat belt buckles and the seat trays on every flight I take from now on.

I also use these wipes in my cruise cabin. When I first enter it I wipe down everything, including the tv remote, all light switches, door handles, end tables, and toilet seat;-). I do not think of myself as paranoid, just extra cautious. No one ever wants want to get sick on any flight or cruise!

See the clip from this segment below:

It is probably a good idea to take these precautions on your next airplane and cruise. I know I will!
