Airline luggage fees. Be aware that it may cost you a little more to get your luggage to your next cruise vacation. The major airline players have raised their fees for checked luggage on their carriers. Do not be surprised when you get to the front of the checked baggage line. Know what you will have to pay. 

American Airlines:

Checked bag fees have changed for flights within the U.S. or to/from Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands for tickets issued on/after September 21, 2018.  Domestic flight fees are $30.00 for the first bag and $ 40.00 for the second.

Delta Airlines:

The most common fees for traveling in a domestic, Main Cabin seat are:

$30.00 each way for your first bag under 50 pounds and $ 40.00 each way for each second bag under 50 pounds.

Jet Blue Airlines:

Tickets purchased on or after August 27, 2018:

For Blue fares, the first checked bag fee is $30 and the second checked bag is $40.

Southwest Airlines:

Southwest Airlines does not charge for your first or second checked bag.  Your skis and golf bags fly free too.
